Competitive Advantages   Washburn Iron Works, Inc. is an employee owned and operated green sand foundry. Without our customers, WIW would not exist; from the first phone contact to shipping raw castings, our focus is always on the needs of our customers. Our production scheduling is flexible. WIW can  run 1, 5, 100 or 1,000s of pieces depending on your needs. We will do our best to help with emergency casting requirements. All WIW employees are trained to use job-oriented Quality Control techniques. From pattern preparation, through molding, through iron consistency and through the grinding process all eyes are on quality. Our employees are cross-trained.  If a personnel gap occurs, another employee can step into that job to assure a smooth production flow. Our facility has incorporated Lean Manufacturing Principles to improve efficiency, streamline processes and reduce lead times.
